Job Title : Senior Civil Works Supervisor

Job Description :
PB are looking to recruit a number of Senior Civil Works Supervisors to join the site team responsible for the supervision of the civil construction works the Medupi Power Plant project. This is the most exciting power project to be undertaken in South Africa for 20 years.

As a joint project team with our client, we will be building the largest coal-fired supercritical power station in the world, comprising 6 units of 800MWe. The project is currently the largest construction project taking place in the Southern hemisphere.

The work includes the construction of the Turbine buildings, Boilers, Air-cooled condensers, as well as the power island infrastructure, earthing mat, transformer compounds and the coal and ash conveyor foundations.

Specific tasks will include:
o Management of the site team.
o Attending weekly and monthly co-ordination meetings.
o Supervising the construction work in line with the contract
o Ensuring the timely provision of all facilities required by the contractors as set out in the specifications.
o Liaising and dealing with contractors in respect of design and construction of site access/temporary roadways and shared facilities to accommodate all interests of affected parties.
o Compliance with Project HSE requirements.
Skills (Years Experience) : Qualified to degree standard, the successful candidate will have a high level of motivation and confidence together with recent construction experience of power plants or heavy civil engineering works.
