| URS seeks an experienced Project Manager to join URS Manchester Office Soil and Groundwater Team. The successful candidate should be degree qualified, ideally to MSc level, in a relevant discipline (Hydrogeology or related Geoscience subject), with between 3 and 6 years experience and have professional membership/chartership with an appropriate institute (eg The Geological Society).
Professional experience should include the day to day management of contaminated land investigations with a demonstrable understanding of the legislative framework and methods (eg quantative risk assessment) used in the assessment of contaminated land. The successful candidate should be a proactive team player, with strong skills in communication (including report writing) and project finance control. They should also have a proven track record of dealing with clients on a regular basis and in the provision of solution orientated advice regarding management of contaminated land. Experience in remediation would therefore be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be based in the URS Manchester office and will report on a day to day basis to the Soil and Groundwater Team Leader. The appointed person will be required to work closely with others and, through this process, should share their expertise to enable less experienced staff working around them to develop and progress their own careers. The successful candidate will also be required to carry out specific tasks for other projects not being managed by them, both in the Manchester office and in other URS offices around the country (or beyond). The successful candidate will need to be flexible, with the ability to re-prioritise work commitments at short notice, and the willingness to work away from home for short periods, as necessary.

| Skills: |
