Kier Workplace Services is currently looking to recruit a Technician / Handy person
1 Ensure definition and delivery of FM standards for a building or site ensuring service delivery, financial viability and value for money
2 Delivery of building operational plans and key work objectives
3 Provide maintenance services for buildings, plant and services in compliance with health and safety and other regulatory requirements.
4 Take various meter readings and temperature readings for management reporting
5 Undertake completion of reactive service event repairs
6 Undertake external landscaping duties
7 Collate, format and submit management information, performance data and audit reports
8 Monitor costs and expenditure such that budgets are meet
9 Liaise with customers and key stakeholder, review service provision and ensure the service is developed and extended to meet the ongoing and changing needs of stakeholders, clients and customers.
10 Manager contractors on site, providing permits if required and trained to do so.
11 Inspect and carry out remedial tasks to ensure buildings, sites, forecourt/pavement areas and car parks are clean, tidy and litter free.
12 Report building maintenance issues, including issuing, monitoring and signing off permits to work from Authorised Contractors’.
13 Carry out periodic internal and external building inspections and monitoring procedures, documenting and ensuring all non-conformities / information is escalated to the relevant person for action
14 Complete such other duties as may be necessary in accordance with established local practice and requirements
15 15. Ensure that all facilities, workspaces and rooms are kept tidy and that storage of materials is in accordance with appropriate Health & Safety requirements
16 Maintain health and safety standards in the department and comply with health and safety policies and procedures Work safely utilising appropriate safe working practices, including the safe use of machinery associated with the job
17 Take care of health & safety of self, other persons and resources
18 Carry out all duties which you are competent to do in a safe manor and in no circumstances attempt to carry out such tasks if you are not
19 Ensure compliance with the lone working procedures
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1 Carry out duties in compliance with business requirements
2 Demonstrate an understanding of processes, systems and routines in the job
3 Demonstrate physical fitness to perform any lifting and handling materials and periods of standing required in the job
4 The job requires evidence of a secondary education, should be able to read process instructions and be able to update information systems, control sheets and other management information as required
5 Previous experience of facility and building management is required
6 Driver’s license is required
