PB are looking to recruit a Procurement Strategist to become part of the most exciting power project to be undertaken in South Africa for 20 years:
The Medupi Project. As a joint project team with our client, we will be building the largest coal-fired supercritical power station in the world, comprising 6 units of 800MWe. The project is currently the largest construction project taking place in the Southern hemisphere.
The role will encompass ongoing research, investigation and assessment of the world market to ensure the availability of key materials, equipment and resource for the project. Identifying key risks and implementing actions to avoid or mitigate these risks.
The key responsibilities of the role will be to produce risk solutions, creating and governing the risk processes, performing analyses and present your finding to the project stakeholders.
Specific tasks will include:
o Building risk models to support corporate, business and operational decision making.
o Producing business case/cost benefit analysis and dynamic cash flow modelling
o Creating quantitative cost and programme risk analysis.
o Setting up and embedding risk management processes.

| Skills: |
Qualified to degree standard, the successful candidate will be a trained business analyst, who has substantial experience in sourcing and procuring materials and equipment for the power generation sector together with risk management experience. Excellent communication and reporting skills are essential, together with strong IT skills.
