SHE Advisor


The main purpose of the role is to ensure the establishment, implementation, management and monitoring of Safety and Environmental systems and processes, with a view to achieving continuous improvement, risk reduction and a safe working environment on site. To ensure contract delivery to the highest standards, consistent always with current legislation, Industry Standards and client requirements.

Main Responsibilities of the SHE Advisor:

* Promote and manage Kier Policies and Procedures and Best Practice at all times.
* Undertake SQE audits/inspections regularly on projects and sites.
* Undertaking Accident / Incident Investigations.
* Ensure adequacy of risk assessments and method statements.
* Ensure SHE competence levels of all staff and contractors and review training matrix.
* To promote and ensure the training and development of staff accordingly.
* Submitting regular reports ensuring regular SHE communication both up and down the organisational structure.
* Reporting SHE statistics of performance and measure against objectives.
* Participate in progress / review meetings.
* Ensure Safety Passport, Site Inductions, Toolbox Talks, Safety Briefings, etc. are communicated to all employees.
* Undertake trend analysis to identify possible areas for improvement.
* Identify and implement SHE initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
* Assist in development of behavioural based safety culture.
* Ensure project compliance with CDM regulations and implementation of SQE plans.
* Liaise with Client SHE representatives.


* A specialist with appropriate qualifications, including minimum NEBOSH Certificate or working towards.
* Minimum 3 years practical experience operating in the construction industry.
* Team player with ability to communicate at all levels.
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to undertake audits and inspections.
* Investigation abilities and able to produce reports.
